Who are we?
We, Schanzer Racing Electric e.V., are a student association and form the Formula Student Team of the TH Ingolstadt. Our team, which consists of over 100 students from various faculties, develops, designs and builds a purely electrically powered racing car – our SRe – every year in an interdisciplinary collaboration. With this vehicle, we compete annually in the international design competition ‘Formula Student’ and measure ourselves against other colleges and universities from all over the world.
But Schanzer Racing has more in common than just the competition: we are united by a passion for technology, innovation and, above all, team spirit. These shared values and the pursuit of continuous improvement drive us to develop and implement innovative concepts. Our members invest a lot of time and commitment in expanding their knowledge, working on the realisation of the SRe and working directly on the vehicles.
Schanzer Racing Electric stands for technical innovation, continuous development and close co-operation. Our aim is to develop a high-performance racing car every year and to take on new challenges as a team – in competition and beyond.
Unsere Geschichte

Being a member of the organisation was a unique opportunity for me to gain such a wide range of experience. I made mechanical designs, solved electrical problems, wrote software, but I was also able to learn a lot personally, especially as Chief of Driverless. During my time in this position, I was able to make a significant contribution to the development of this area and the autonomous system. Cross-departmental coordination and budget planning were therefore also very important. I was also able to make important contacts in the industry through the association and the events, which helped me later on.
The racing events were the highlights for me, as you can really feel the Formula Student spirit there thanks to the many like-minded people. I also always enjoyed preparing the cars for the scrutineering sessions and the dynamics.
It therefore goes without saying that I will continue to support the association as an alumni wherever I can. And the friendships I have made here will remain friendships for life.

I gained a lot of valuable experience in the team. Especially in project management and cross-departmental collaboration as Chief of Software. In addition to organisational matters, such as budgeting or personnel management, I was responsible for all driver-relevant software in the vehicle. Coordination with the Low and High Voltage divisions was also a large part of my responsibility. I was also responsible for the development and production of the dashboard, which also accompanied me in the 23/24 season.
These tasks not only gave me many valuable practical insights into various areas, but also expanded my skills in terms of teamwork and communication.
In addition to networking at events such as the rollout or the racing events, it is always a highlight for me to see what you have achieved within a year, no matter how successful you are in the end.

During my time at Schanzer Racing, I developed many skills that will help me a lot in my professional life. In my positions, I was able to significantly expand my organisational and communication skills through the many practical experiences. These experiences and the network in the industry have helped me to progress both personally and professionally.
My highlights include the rollout, where I was able to proudly present the months of work put in by the entire team. The events are also among the highlights, as they reflect the great team spirit in Formula Student.

My time as a member so far has been very educational for me in many aspects. I have been able to develop my design skills with CAD programs, gain many insights into motorsport and gain networking experience through contact with many companies. For me personally, the close collaboration within the team and the events were particularly beneficial and strengthened my problem-solving skills and time management.
My personal highlights include the first drive of our tenth car in 2023, as this took place before the rollout. Another highlight was the successful endurance drive at FSG 2024 and the team spirit. The night shifts in production are also a highlight of my season every year.
